World of Warcraft still wildly popular

Blizzard is set to release a new expansion with the World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria which went into beta in March.  The massive subscriber stats simply dwarf the competition which contains some pretty impressive competitors like Rift, SWTOR, and Tera.

Expansion packs have always been subscriber drivers for the MMO, and it looks like MOP will be no different for Blizzard.  The company has addressed the need to bring more content in closer intervals to keep players engaged with the game.  Mists of Pandaria introduces the Pandaren race as playable characters for the first time in the history of the game.  The content expansion is due out in 2012.

a very interesting rumor surfaced on Reddit, stating that World of Warcraft: Complete Edition will be listed on the Xbox Store on December 9, the same day as The Game Awards ceremony, which raises the possibility that the ad is scheduled as a part of the award.

Unfortunately, the post has already been deleted, however, a ResetEra forum user managed to save the relevant information, showing that the Xbox website received a major update recently, and when looking at the source codes, you can see the game’s name and date. .

It’s worth remembering that Blizzard hasn’t commented on the matter yet, and at the moment it’s just a rumor, so be sure to follow TGA’s coverage on Voxel to find out if this release will really be real or not.
